At the intersection of World War I’s end, and the mass enchantment of the new automobile and moving pictures, the English Cottage was the sudden favorite of the “Roaring ‘20’s”. Once upon a time before World War 1, Portlanders would often not travel more than 10 miles from home in a lifetime. Veterans returned with tales of exotic places they had seen overseas, among them, jolly Old England.

This is not your typical "assistant" job. You will never fetch coffee or take notes for executives. Instead, you will be asked to make immediate, proactive change in the company.
This position requires a mix of soft and hard skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, precise attention to detail and strong drive constitute the core requirements of this position.
While not essential, a technical specialty will greatly improve your chances of employment. This may include: web design, AP writing, bookkeeping, drafting, project management and estimating.
The candidate will have both good design and technical credentials, a, colleagues, suppliers and statutory bodies ensuring a broad variety of work on a daily basis. While initially reporting to a team leader, the candidate’s long-term goal should be to take ownership of an increasing number and complexity of projects to develop themselves in to a well-rounded architect and key member of the studio.
