Kari McGee, Multi-Million Dollar Broker with Hasson, a McCulloch Construction partner in Green Team

Why Kari McGee, Multi-Million Dollar Broker with The Hasson Company Realtors and member of Hasson's Green Team, uses McCulloch Construction as part of her own "Green Team":

Q: What about McCulloch Construction appeals to you and your clientele concerned with sustainability?

A: The smell – or lack there of! McCulloch Construction encourages clients to use green products like low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) paints in their remodels. After years of entering homes with new toxic paint, it’s a relief not to be assaulted by strong fumes. McCulloch Construction also emphasizes the re-use of existing materials in their projects, and they know the green products available to our clients. McCulloch Construction truly excels in this arena.

Q: Why practice sustainability when it comes to the world of real estate remodeling?

A: Lots of reasons, but focusing on sustainability has been a good business decision. As a trade ally of Energy Trust of Oregon, I can tell you that energy efficient homes sell on average for $40 more per square foot than homes with traditional efficiency standards. McCulloch Construction has long used energy efficient appliances in their projects and I value their expertise when it comes to improvements that will strengthen the thermal envelope in even the draftiest and leakiest of Portland’s older homes.
